Subject: Temperatures in China
What we did today:
Okay, we have heard from several folks about the deep freeze temperatures back home. Brrrr!
That usually leads to questions about the weather here in China. Just remember that China is a BIG country! We have now been to three different provinces in three different parts of the country.
In Beijing, our highs hovered around the freezing point with morning lows in the teens. Not too terribly cold, unless you spend the whole day out touring the windy Great Wall or wandering through the Imperial City!
In Chongqing, the daily temperature range started out in the morning in the 40’s and got into the 50’s for highs each day. I thought it felt like a nice autumn or early spring day, but all The Chinese wear layers and warm coats even though most never wore a hat.
While we are here in Guangzhou, the lowest high should be in the high 60’s with most days in the high 70’s. Yep, it’s like we’ve gone to Chinese Florida. I packed away our hats and gloves and long johns for now.
Maybe you all could defrost the Midwest by the time we come home on Friday?
